Dolby-Vivisol to provide oxygen systems as part of Scotland-wide contract

Patients across Forth Valley who need home oxygen are now having supplies delivered directly to their doors as part of a contract with Dolby-Vivisol.

Around 200 people in the area are benefitting from the move, which is part of a nationally co-ordinated service by Health Facilities Scotland, a division of NHS national Services Scotland.

NHS Forth Valley medical director, Dr Iain Wallace, said: “This is an extremely good move for our local patients who are dependent on home oxygen.

“Instead of being delivered from local community pharmacies, oxygen is now supplied by Dolby-Vivisol, which provides this service across Scotland.”

He added: “Supporting effective patient services is our highest priority. The handover will allow access to new technologies and lighter, portable equipment to enable our patients to enjoy a better quality of life.”

Patients who receive oxygen at home have a variety of conditions involving several specialties including respiratory, cancer, cardiac, neurology, paediatrics and palliative care.
