Ryhurst, the specialist partner in providing land and asset solutions for the health and social care markets, has recruited Joan Melville as business development director.
Melville brings a total of 35 years experience in healthcare and facilities management across the public and private sectors. She joins Ryhurst from Balfour Beatty Workplace where she held a variety of executive roles over a 13-year career, most recently as business development director of the healthcare sector.
In her new role, she will lead Ryhurst’s existing and future Strategic Estates Partnership (SEP) opportunities with the NHS, developing its estates advisory service and progressing innovative NHS estates productivity solutions.
Stephen Collinson, managing director of Ryhurst, said: “We are very fortunate to have someone of Joan’s calibre joining us. Her expertise and knowledge of the health sector and her understanding of public/private partnerships will be enormously valuable to our future delivery plans.”
Melville added: “I am thrilled to be working with Stephen and the team. Ryhurst brings great value to the NHS through their partnership model and I want to be part of that vision, improving healthcare estates to positively impact clinical care.”
Melville is immediate past chairman of BIFM Scotland and holds an MSc in FM.
Her appointment comes as Ryhurst’s ground-breaking joint venture partnership company with Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust reached a milestone by taking over the full management of thet estate. Red Rose Corporate Services, in 2010, became the first joint venture estates partnership between an NHS Foundation trust and the private sector, allowing the trust to do what it does best, delivering clinical and mental health services to the county of Lancashire.
