Storage solution installed at University of Bournemouth medical centre

Railex Projects has installed a new notes storage system in the medical centre created for students at the University of Bournemouth.

Housed in a dedicated building on the Talbot campus between Bournemouth and Poole, the purpose-designed Rollastore mobile filing and storage system combines strength and ease of operation with the accessibility and security of patients records.

Practice manager, Judith Young, said: “The clever design means that nothing personal is revealed and the contents are as secure and clean as they could be.

“It takes up much less space than conventional filing, while allowing for future expansion and reflects the quality of our student services.”

The Railex Rollastore format consists of storage units alongside each other in bays that run along tracks set into a floor-based removeable plinth, which is not bolted or permanently fitted.

The sections are easily opened or shut at the turn of smart intuitive handwheels and locked as required.

The University of Bournemouth has 10 bays 2025mm high by 1000mm wide and 400mmdeep. This saves some 50% compared to shelving or filing cabinets.

The multiple horizontal shelves accommodate some 7,500 individual records housed in Railex Projects protective Medifile trays.

The overall Rollastore sits neatly between the back of the reception area and the office.
