Specialist built environment consultancy, Essentia Trading, has appointed Matt Tanner as director of programme and project management in Cambridge as part of its continued expansion across the East Anglia region.
Building on key appointments at the start of 2018, Tanner will be working alongside Essentia’s expanding team in the region to respond to a growing project pipeline across the health, science and higher education market sectors.
Essentia’s capital development team, now numbering over 40 professionals, specialises in the management and delivery of highly-complex, end-user-occupied capital investment portfolios in both the public and private sector.
Tanner joins Essentia after 17 years with AECOM in the region.
He has an extensive track record of delivering technically-challenging projects for higher education and life science clients, including the recently-opened £80m Quadram Institute at Norwich Research Park, and over £250m worth of complex laboratory projects for the University of Cambridge.
Mark Halstead, director of programme and project management at Essentia, said: “Cambridge and East Anglia are known for their world-leading capabilities in health, science and education and are a key part of the Government’s industrial strategy.
“It’s estimated that Cambridge’s life sciences hub alone is home to over 440 companies generating over £4.2billion a year.
“And, with major blue-chip companies relocating to the city and the anticipated Oxford to Cambridge corridor, this will only grow.”
“Matt will play a key role in our long-term strategy to strengthen our team in this high-growth area.
“He brings an outstanding track record from his years at AECOM and has enormous strengths in leading and developing successful project teams which will be a huge asset to our business.”
