Bacticell cartridge named among the best innovations in H&V over past year

An energy-saving air filter that is being fitted into hospitals across England has been singled out for praise after being chosen as the winner of a top industry award.

Nationwide Filter Company won the Air Conditioning Product of the Year title for its Bacticell Air Filter Cartridge at the H&V News Awards , the ‘Oscars’ of the heating and ventilation sector.

In awarding the prize, the judging panel said: “The benefits of the Bacticell Air Filter Cartridge extend beyond its primary function as an alternative to the conventional bag filter.”

Since the product was first accepted onto the NHS national framework agreement for the supply of air filters, it has been introduced into NHS and private hospitals across the country.

The technology lasts longer than conventional bag filters, uses up to 30% less fan energy, generates less waste, and, under the new test regime and guidance on the energy classification of air filters, can achieve the highest ‘Class A’ rating.
