AECOM has appointed Gavin Crook as regional director of building services engineering, working within its successful healthcare and science sector team across London and Southern England.
He joins AECOM from Hoare Lea, where he worked for 20 years and was a senior associate.
Largely working across the healthcare sector, Crook will primarily support the growing healthcare project portfolio, as well as science and higher education markets.
He approaches projects with a patient-first philosophy, striving to innovate where it makes impactful change while balancing this with a risk-based approach to ensure that projects are delivered efficiently and cost effectively.
He said of the new role: “Nowhere more than healthcare is there a fundamental need for robust and resilient engineering.
“Putting patients first means excellence in engineering across the whole healthcare estate, something which I’m proud to work with AECOM to deliver.”
AECOM healthcare and science sector leader, Richard Mann, added: “Healthcare buildings are large and complex and need systems which are fit for purpose – enabling staff and patients to work and rest in comfort, day in and day out.
“From an engineering perspective, Gavin brings proven healthcare skills, technical knowledge and experience in the delivery of projects from the very start to create the high-quality, specialist environments required by healthcare professionals.”
