A new, purpose-built £2m breast care centre has officially opened to patients as part of the extension at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.
The facility offers a one-stop clinic model, allowing patients to undergo consultation, examination, and diagnostic testing during a single visit.
For the first time, patients attending breast clinic appointments at Frimley Park will have access to a dedicated space, designed to improve the patient experience and streamline the diagnostic process.
A spacious waiting area and a dedicated breast care nurses’ room complete the facility
Isabella Karat, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and Clinical Lead Breast Surgery, Frimley Health, said: “This centre is the result of years of fundraising, meticulous planning and hard work, and I’m incredibly proud that we now have a dedicated unit to allow us to offer the best possible care for our patients.”
The centre provides a multidisciplinary environment where surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and specialist nurses collaborate to deliver personalised care plans.
Partially funded by a successful fundraising campaign by the Frimley Health Charity, the unit includes five consultation and examination rooms, two ultrasound rooms, and two mammogram rooms equipped with advanced 3D scanners and Contrast Enhanced Mammography.
Patient experience has been central to the unit’s design, with features such as colour-coded rooms for ease of navigation
