Zeus wins 3-year contract with Mid Yorkshire Hospitals

A THREE-YEAR contract worth £10,000 has been awarded by Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust to Zeus Technology (acquired by Riverbed Technology) to manage data traffic between the trust's main sites. The trust moved 80% of its servers to a virtualised environment three years ago. But, with medical records and patient results being accessed by up to 500 employees at any given time, demand has been high on the two data centres. Zeus's load balancing technology is designed to ensure the hospitals' data is always available. James Rawlinson, the trust's assistant director of IT services, said: "We've been able to ensure availability across both sites quickly and with the reliability we need. We can now consider rolling out additional specialised systems on the Zeus platform."
