Assura Group project enables modernisation of two GP practices

Assura Group has completed work on a new £3m medical centre in Merseyside.

The 14,350sq ft centre in Bebington will see the relocation of two local GP practices - the Kings Lane Medical Centre and the Church Road Medical Centre – providing modern, fit-for-purpose medical facilities, including a minor surgery suite and rooms for GP, nurse and counselling consultations. The site also includes an integrated pharmacy, to be run by Averroes Pharmacy.

Amanda Roddy, development manager at Assura Group, said: “The Bebington Medical Centre will consolidate a wide range of the community’s healthcare needs into one convenient building, improving the patient experience and increasing the quality of care in the area.”

Dr Mugerwa, a GP at the medical centre, added: “We’re really looking forward to opening the new medical centre to our patients, which we expect will help us to increase our quality of care even further and boost our medical service offering.”

Designed by the West Hart Partnership and constructed by WH Snow, the building was designed to incorporate substantial expansion space, which will potentially allow a second practice to relocate to the building in the future.
