University Hospitals Bristol uses Imprivata for secure access to patient data

University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has implemented the Imprivata OneSign 4.5 solution across all sites, providing 5,100 users with secure access to patient data. The solution has been deployed as part of the trust's clinical systems strategy. Dave Oatway, computer services manager for the trust, said: "As a speciality centre for several different types of treatment, including oncology services and paediatric care, security, confidentiality and clinician productivity are all essential to the service we provide. Imprivata has allowed us to tackle the common security challenges associated with multiple passwords, improving data security and simplifying day-to-day access for our users. OneSign has allowed the IT team improved control across user accounts, meaning we are able to comply with the Information Governance Toolkit. In addition, feedback from users has been overwhelming positive." Imprivata's Ed Gaudet added: "With NHS trusts facing increased demands to provide patient care in the most-effective manner, solutions that enhance productivity are becoming a priority. We have worked closely with clinicians to ensure OneSign unobstructively integrates with day-to-day tasks, promoting efficiency, rather than hindering it."
