The clinic has two outpatient and diagnostic clinics located in central London and in the City, and pride themselves as being a centre of excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, both surgical and nonsurgical.
Interfurn are proud to be associated with Fortius Clinic and working recently with Maquet and Townley Hughes, providing the clinic with two state of the art, modern Ultra Clean operating theatres.
Due to severely restricted ceiling void access space, the requirement to provide two new Ultra Clean Theatres at the clinic was deemed impossible by other ventilation specialist supply companies and so Interfurn Medical Systems were consulted for a solution.
Because the Interfurn canopy is a bespoke solution and is designed around obstacles in the ceiling void, including in this case, parallel steel support beam running at 1500mm intervals and through the UCV canopy in places, we were able to offer a workable solution for each of the two theatres.
Interfurn designed a shallow canopy and worked within the 500mm ceiling void parameter. Ductwork running was difficult in such a restricted and congested area however we overcame the challenge and supplied two HTM03-01 compliant Ultra Clean units.
The Interfurn canopies are totally skirtless and fit flush to the ceiling allowing complete freedom of positioning and movement of other vital pieces of equipment such as surgical lighting and medical pendants. The click release CG screen is totally screwless and allows fast, easy access for HEPA filter changing and routine maintenance. The benefit of this feature, and unique to Interfurn canopies, is that theatre downtime is dramatically reduced.
Dimmable lighting is incorporated into the canopy providing 1000LUX at table level and is controlled along with other temperature and UCV functions from the theatre surgeon’s panel. The UCV’s are fully integrated with the clinic’s own BMS.
Both theatres at Fortius Clinic were able to accommodate low level wall mounted recirculation providing the optimum ultra clean solution. Interfurn can however offer high level and even remote recirculation if room dimensions and available space dictate.
