Stepnell has been appointed to carry out a £1.2m refurbishment programme at the Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital.

The phased programme of work at the hospital in Lansdowne Road will include the refurbishment of ground-floor consulting rooms, corridors and reception and ancillary spaces; first-floor corridors and bedrooms; and second-floor offices, corridors and theatre recovery areas.

Stepnell will also carry out the enabling work and completion work for the installation by Siemens of a cardiac catheter laboratory, a state-of-the-art specialist facility for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.

The Stepnell team has just started work on the project, designed by Kendall Kingscott, which is set for completion in October 2015.

Stepnell’s contracts manager, Karl Nottage, said: “We are delighted to be delivering these modern, patient-friendly refurbished facilities which will incorporate the latest technology. Our team has an extensive track record in the healthcare sector and wide experience of delivering high-quality results working in occupied, live environments such as hospitals.”

David McNair, hospital director of Nuffield Health, added: “The renovation works will cement Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital as the leading hospital in the area, and with the company’s vast healthcare experience Stepnell is helping us to achieve this with minimal disruption to our patients.”
