Photographic exhibition shows the \'individual behind the illness\'

The public showing of the first of two concurrent artist residencies was unveiled recently at the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Co-ordinated by Lime, artist, Claire Tindale, worked over a period of three months, building on an existing, ongoing body of work about dementia.

A series of pieces have been generated in response to insight gained while on three specific wards that care primarily for older adults, while also drawing inspiration from conversations with patients, relatives and staff.

The resulting photographic works features the care provided within the hospital environment, juxtaposed with three domestic spaces reflecting personal histories and the ‘individual’ behind the illness.

Work by Kate Sheward who also undertook the paired residency at Rochdale Infirmary will be launched in the coming months.
