ProCure21+ contract awarded for GOSH revamp to Watkins Gray International
Watkins Gray International has been appointed to lead redevelopment and refurbishment work at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. The £17m three-year contract for enabling works was won via the ProCure21+ process as part of a joined-up bid from Watkins Gray International and partners, Balfour Beatty and Mansell. The deal is believed to be the largest awarded for refurbishment works through the ProCure21 approach and continues the architectural company's six-year association with the world-famous hospital. The works will include the creation of additional bed spaces, the replacement of the transitional care unit, and the provision of a new twin theatre IR unit. Chris Grayson of Watkins Gray International said: "We're pleased to be able to continue our association with the hospital and build on our achievements over the last six years. Our experience of the project and with working closely with the trust has ensured that from briefing to completion we've been able to turn each project around quickly, avoiding unnecessary bed losses or any other impacts on daily hospital routine."
