Residential and dementia care home to be built following successful appeal

LNT Care Developments has received planning permission to build a 66-bed care home in Bicester.

Planning was approved for the development on land at Skimmingdish Lane after an appeal against an earlier decision by Cherwell District Council.

The facility will provide residential and dementia care for those aged over 65 years.

Construction is due to start November, with a predicted completion date of December 2019.

Nick Broadbent, development director at LNT Care Developments, said: "We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home in Bicester.

"It will create 50 jobs in the local area and provide a high-quality resource for elderly people in the local community.

"The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly, benefitting from ground source heat pumps and LED lighting to keep utility costs low."
