Penoyre & Prasad has won the competition to design clinical and research facilities for the Anna Freud Centre children’s mental health charity.
The studio beat a long list of other practices to win the competition, which will create a new home for a pioneering school for families with mental health problems.
The redevelopment will take place across the charity’s two sites in Hampstead and Kings Cross. Once complete they will also house other Anna Freud Centre activities, including research, training and clinical services.
Penoyre & Prasad partner, Mark Rowe, said: “We are very excited by the opportunity to work on this unique project, bringing together, as it does, a complex mix of many of the typologies in which we have developed a deep knowledge. It also offers the chance to work with an organisation committed to the thoughtful involvement of their staff and users in the design process from the outset, and ultimately to support the Anna Freud Centre in helping people within this important, and often misunderstood, area of care.”
