Welch Allyn secures contract for rollout of 1500 Patient Monitor technology

Innovative patient monitoring systems have been purchased for the new A&E at Whipps Cross Hospital in London.

Welch Allyn has secured a contract to supply its 1500 Patient Monitors to the accident and emergency centre, which opened its doors to patients in May. The systems are connected to an Acuity Central Monitoring Station.

The technology displays patient data such as heart rate, ECG measurements, pulse oximetry, temperature and blood pressure on a large 15ins screen practically anywhere in the room. Equipped with three different patient modes, the monitors can be used for adult, paediatric and neonatal patients.

The systems are located in the trauma and resuscitation, acute care, obstetrics and paediatrics, and minor injuries units.

“Welch Allyn is delighted to be a part of the new A&E centre at Whipps Cross,” said Jan McMeekin, the company’s UK country manager. “This excellent new facility will provide essential care for patients as the monitors will support the A&E staff to make the best clinical decisions and result in improved patient safety and recovery.”
