Solutions provider chosen to provide radiology imaging software

Insignia Medical Systems has been selected to provide its radiology imaging software to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), a world-renowned centre of clinical excellence and one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK.

Oxford University Hospitals (OUH), which consists of nine sites across the county and performs over 500,000 radiology examinations a year, selected Insignia to provide its full suite of PACS products including the class-leading InSight 4D Viewer, regional sharing and advanced home reporting services.

The migration of its historical data will be one of the largest undertaken in the UK, with over 100TB of data being transferred using the proven Insignia Migration Service.

Will Smith, senior technology project manager at Oxford University Hospitals, said: “We are excited to be working with Insignia. As a UK company they were able to offer a product built specifically for the UK market. Their in-built sharing capabilities, training package and their ability to match our project timescales made them an obvious choice.”

Insignia, which recently also won a contract with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) and the Oxford Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) to provide its sharing service, provides sharing capabilities that enables organisations to immediately view studies at other trusts. By automatically presenting the clinicians with a full patient record across the region, it is able to access shared data quickly and without the need for time consuming administrator actions, something that OUH is keen to benefit from.

Speaking about theinew contract, Mike Dagley, project manager at Insignia Medical Systems, said: “We’re very proud to be selected to work with such a well-respected trust, which plays an integral role as a major tertiary referral centre across the country. The migration will one of the largest in the UK, which continues to reinforce our position as one of the leading PACS and VNA suppliers in the UK.”
