A new care facility which will help adults with mental health and learning difficulties will be opening at Nuneaton early next year.
Cedar Lodge is being built by Camino Healthcare, which already operates two well-established units in the West Midlands.
Located at Bucks Hill, Nuneaton, Cedar Lodge is being built on previously-neglected land and when finished will deliver mental health services that are greatly needed in the local area.
A variety of industry experts, service users, healthcare staff, and commissioners have had input into both the design and location of the building, which will provide nursing care for both men and women aged between 18-65.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TVs, and hi-speed Wi-Fi. There will also be spacious climate-controlled communal areas including kitchens, lounges, dining areas, gardens, and a karaoke area and cinema.
The project is being part funded by Yorkshire Bank.
Oliver Horsey, chief executive of Camino Healthcare, said: “This is our third development in the West Midlands which will offer robust care packages for those on their personal journey of recovery.
“We have listened to lots of stakeholders and worked closely with those in the industry to build something which I hope is unique to the sector. We have combined their input with our expertise in absolutely every component of the building.
“For example, inside Cedar Lodge, the accommodation will be divided into three independent units, meaning we can really tailor both the environment and the care we provide to meet the needs of our service users.
“There is going to be a really-therapeutic environment, especially with such a beautiful landscape on the doorstep.”
The home has been designed by Cynergi with landscaping by TPM Landscape.
