Belong care village will offer specialist dementia support

Work is due to start shortly on a new Belong care village in Chester.

Designed for the over-55s; it will comprise a 72-bed care home with three guest rooms, plus 23 one and two-bedroom apartments for independent living.

Services will include specialist dementia and nursing support.

The care village will also boast communal facilities including a gym, bistro, hair salon, and therapy rooms, which will be open to members of the wider community.

The development will rise to a maximum of five storeys on its frontage on City Road, increasing to six from the canalside and Queens Avenue.

The scheme also involves the landscaping of surrounding areas, including the canalside conservation area.

It has been designed by Pozzoni to incorporate the ‘best principles of dementia-friendly design’, while integrating with the various surrounding industrial and historical architectural styles.

once built, CLS Care Services will operate the facility under its ‘Belong’ format.
