Innov8 iQ range of ward beds selected for rolling bed replacement programme at West Suffolk Hospital

First launched late last year, the very latest addition to Sidhil's Innov8 iQ range of ward beds has been selected by West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust for a rolling bed replacement programme planned over the next three years at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

The new Innov8 iQ with split siderails has been designed by Sidhil to extend the clinical potential of the iQ range.

Adding the fixed split siderails has increased the scope of this popular and flexible ward bed, expanding functionality and making it relevant for specialist areas and high-dependent CCU and HDU patients as well as general ward applications.

Selected following a competitive tender process, the new Innov8 iQ was chosen for its combination of high-specification features and focus on safety, reliability and affordability, as well as the low mattress platform height, which is already making significant contribution to falls prevention strategies in hospitals across the UK.

"In addition, Sidhil's Innov8 iQ with split siderails was the preferred choice of our estates and facilities department and clinical areas, based on the ease of maintenance built into the bed design and the fact that it is manufactured in the UK, giving us fast and reliable access to maintenance and spare parts," stated Neil Herbert, moving and handling advisor commenting on behalf of the trust.

The first 50 beds were delivered in July and Sidhil is providing training on the maintenance of the product to the trust’s bed maintenance team situated in the estates department to ensure all beds are kept in optimum condition.
