Energy-Saver range helps health trusts meet new carbon reduction targets

Portakabin has expanded its modular building systems with the launch of its Energy-Saver range.

Engineered to reduce energy use by more than 60%, the solution enables healthcare estates and facilities teams to meet stringent environmental and carbon reduction targets and reduce running costs.

Available as Portakabin Solus and Titan Energy-Saver systems, the modules were developed in collaboration with Energy Building and have the capability to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate ‘A’ rating.

They can be sourced as permanent applications or for hire as an interim solution and are fitted with air source heat pumps which produce around 4.5kW of heating for every 1kW of electricity consumed, and high-frequency, energy-efficient lighting controlled by motion detection sensors and dimmer controls.

Commenting on the launch, Kevin Jones, director and general manager at Portakabin’s sales division, said: “Reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, and ensuring compliance with increasingly stringent environmental legislation have to be key priorities for every healthcare organisation in the UK. Our new Energy-Saver buildings demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the sustainability agenda, to innovation and to helping our customers minimise energy costs.”
