NHS to benefit from latest NHS Supply Chain deal with Elekta

New deal will help deliver world-class cancer care and significant savings for the NHS

In collaboration with NHS trusts, the NHS Supply Chain capital solutions team has been working with manufacturer Elekta on the latest National Commitment Deal for linear accelerators.

The deal will bring the next generation of equipment to the NHS at the most-competitive price.

The contract offers trusts a choice of three systems: the Elekta Synergy, the Versa HD Select, and the Versa HD.

Structuring the deal in this way ensures a full range of treatment solutions are available to clinicians, including the capability to do stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).

Andy Brown, managing director of NHS Supply Chain Capital Solutions, said: “The Capital Team supports patient care by delivering the latest equipment at the best value. These systems are a key part of delivering world-class cancer care and, by using the Department of Health’s Capital Equipment fund to support the bulk procurement with Elekta, we have released greater value for trusts and savings back to the NHS.”
