Medical equipment manufacturer increases production of hospital beds and mattresses to meet demand during coronavirus outbreak

Having unveiled its new manufacturing facility at the end of 2019, Medstrom Healthcare has been working tirelessly to meet the demands of the healthcare network during the COVID-19 crisis.

As an essential supplier to the NHS, HSE, and other healthcare sectors; Medstrom has increased the production rate of hospital beds and mattresses in order to deliver much-needed support throughout the UK and Ireland.

Scott Apsey, managing director, said: “In conversations with our healthcare partners over the last few weeks, it is very clear that they need and require our support.

“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved as a company to date and, by definition, immeasurably proud of each and every one of our staff members for their amazing collective efforts.

“Volunteers from other departments have added to our manufacturing, decontamination and implementation teams, ensuring we can maintain the high level of support and service.”

Alongside the supply of specialist medical equipment, Medstrom’s service network is keen to share government guidelines wherever possible. This has been demonstrated by the addition of new signage on the vehicle fleet, as well as an updated uniform that prioritises safe social distancing to protect its workforce and others.

Apsey said: “Altogether the collective effort shown is remarkable and I trust it will make a big difference in combating this disease, during these difficult and unprecedented circumstances.”
