Monitor awards contract through Government\'s G-Cloud procurement service

Mastek has been appointed by UK healthcare regulator, Monitor, to develop a data management platform.

The selection was made through the Government’s G-Cloud service following a rigorous procurement process.

Designed to deliver data analysis, data comparison and benchmarking, the data management platform will be used internally by Monitor’s economists, analysts and regulatory staff.

The platform will support Monitor in its role to make sure the money taxpayers spend on the NHS delivers as much as possible for patients.

Commenting on the contract award, Prahlad Koti, vice president of government and health at Mastek, said: “Our rich heritage in delivering business intelligence solutions is enhanced with an indepth knowledge of health data. Mastek has developed strong working relationships with the healthcare sector, deploying several applications for the NHS including the secondary user service and upgrades to their annual payment by results application.”

Dominic Carter, business development director of healthcare, added: “The potential benefits of our agile development methodology, coupled with our credentials in deploying large-scale data warehousing solutions appealed to Monitor. This contract follows hot on the heels of the identity and access management solution award by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) to Mastek.”
