Landscape provides inspiration at St Mary's

DOZENS of photographs of south Hampshire and the Isle of Wight will brighten up the walls of the new St Mary's Community Health Campus, thanks to the League of Friends at St Mary's Hospital. The artwork was put together by students at the University of Portsmouth as part of a competition. The winning entry showed a funfair's colourful rainbow Ferris wheel, with clouds in a blue sky and was taken by Chi-hang Lau, a third year business administration student, who won an iPad. Second prize was awarded to Fabiana Riveros, and third place went to Simonas Serpenskas. In all, the League of Friends received 321 photographs from 70 people and around 60 will be permanently displayed at the new £18.6m health campus, funded by NHS Portsmouth and the Department of Health. Senior project manager, Catherine Webster, said: "South Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have great photographic potential, and our pictures prove that. Without doubt the photos will make a real difference to the community health campus and because they show scenes from the local area it makes it so much more interesting."
