Burnley General and Royal Blackburn hospitals roll out Ascribe system
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust has gone live with an e-Pharmacy solution to improve efficiency and boost patient safety.
The trust has introduced Ascribe’s Web Pharmacy system at both Burnley General Hospital and the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Patient records and drug tables have already been successfully migrated to the new platform and over the next few weeks the trust is looking to implement additional Ascribe solutions to further enhance operational performance and improve patient safety.
Neil Fletcher, clinical director of pharmacy at the trust, said: “Web Pharmacy is a very powerful clinical tool that can deliver real safety benefits to our patients. In addition to this, it has integration and reporting capabilities that we can use to deliver additional gains as we develop and further enhance our healthcare IT systems.”
The trust was the first in the UK to deploy Ascribe’s original pharmacy solution more than 20 years ago.
