Interfurn provide conventional ventilation for new theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital

Published: 11-Jul-2017

In the first instance Interfurn were asked to submit a proposal for an ultra clean ventilation solution for the new theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon hospital. The scope included associated areas including scrub room, control room, corridor and prep room and was one element of the much larger, new hospital extension with Speller Metcalfe being the main contractor.

As the project developed and following detailed consultation with Interfurn, the Trust recognised that in fact an Ultra Clean canopy was not required in this instance and requested that a conventional theatre be built instead. Demonstrating once again our versatility and ability to respond to the changing situation Interfurn designed instead a full conventional ventilation solution and for the whole theatre suite.

With support from Fulbourn Medical and other specialist equipment suppliers we installed, and commissioned not only the conventional ventilation equipment but also the Surgeons Panel, the medical and gas pendants and integrated the surgical lights chosen and purchased by the Trust themselves.

Delivering on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client and the Trust, Interfurn achieved practical completion including commissioning early in July 2017 as requested.
