Induction Attend Anywhere enables remote clinical group consultations

Published: 13-Dec-2021

Launch will provide an invaluable tool for patients such as those who require addiction and mental health therapy

Induction Healthcare has expanded its remote consultation service, Induction Attend Anywhere.

Now live across the whole of the UK, the platform supports clinical group consultations with the launch of a key new function, purpose built for healthcare.

The pandemic, and related restrictions, have impacted many group services, including addiction and mental health therapy provision.

And, to date, clinicians have had to rely on non-clinical business conferencing facilities to maintain some continuity, but these can come with privacy and usability limitations.

Now facing a backlog, and an estimated 10 million people who may need new, or additional, mental health support over the next three to five years, clinicians require a flexible care model which enables remote group consultations at scale and within a clinically-safe setting.

Commenting on the announcement, James Balmain, chief executive of Induction Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to share the expansion of our Induction Attend Anywhere platform, which enables the NHS to integrate remote clinical group consultations within a secure and private setting.

“This bespoke function will support the NHS to scale up crucial services like counselling to some of the hardest to reach patients. And it will help address the current backlog while transforming healthcare for the longer term.”

Co-created with NHS providers, Induction Attend Anywhere clinical group consultations has been designed to virtually mirror standard clinical and patient workflow for optimum integration.

A distinctive feature is that there is a single-entry link for each clinical group consultation waiting Area, avoiding production of multi-patient links and helping to safeguard clinician and patient confidentiality.

The new function leverages next-generation patient entry and includes ‘in call’ features and controls that reduce clinical risk and prioritise privacy and security.

For example, only the service providers can see callers’ names and they have full control to admit, deny, or remove individual participants.

Through Induction Attend Anywhere patients can be confident that the platform is separate from their business or personal accounts, and their information is anonymised for all others in the remote clinical consultation.

This is particularly important for clinical group consultations where confidentiality is paramount.

Key features here ensure no digital footprint is the left by patients and the consultation room cannot be re-joined in order to view any chat data.

The development of a clinical group consultations function offers immediate support to the 300,000 health professionals who already use Induction Attend Anywhere.

And, more broadly, it provides another important tool to enable community-based healthcare, a key aim of the NHS Long Term Plan.
