Improvements to mammography services in Lincolnshire

Published: 7-Jun-2011

LINCOLNSHIRE women receiving mammograms are now seeing more accurate results the first time. United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has taken delivery of three new digital mammography X-ray units to be used at Lincoln County Hospital, Grantham and District Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. One has been installed at each of these sites to facilitate the early detection of breast cancers across Lincolnshire. Radiology breast services manager, Bernadette Trzcinski, said: "The new digital equipment will further improve the service we deliver to women countywide. It will enable us to continue in our efforts to provide a high-quality and efficient service to the local population and we strongly encourage all eligible women to attend for their breast screening invitations."
