Environmental consultancy works on hattrick of healthcare projects

Environmental engineering consultancy, Henderson Green, is undertaking a hattrick of hospital lift projects.

The company has been brought on board by Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Jersey General Hospital and St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight.

In Poole, the consultancy is undertaking designs for the modernisation of two passenger lifts. In Jersey, the team has been working on the replacement of the hospital's lifts over an eight-year period and it is currently designing its sixth lift to replace the old traction lifts in the main hospital.

In addition, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has asked Henderson Green to undertake a feasibility study for the replacement of two lifts at St Mary's Hospital in Newport.

Russ Pitman, Henderson Green's managing director, said: "Healthcare projects have always been a key part of our business, but in addition to designing huge healthcare schemes we have specialities in several areas, one of which is lifts.

"Lifts in a healthcare setting require niche expertise to ensure the correct specification, installation, efficiency, safety and sustainability, and we are delighted to have been commissioned to work on these projects across the south coast and in Jersey.

“The change out of old traction lifts to new inverter controlled units offers the client large energy savings given the frequency of use of this vital hospital service.”
