Healthcare Software Solutions announces appointment of medical advisor

Dr Rizwan Malik takes on new role

Healthcare Software Solutions (HSS), supplier of the CRIS Radiology Information System (RIS), has announced the appointment of Dr Rizwan Malik into the position of medical advisor.

Dr Malik is a consultant radiologist at Royal Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, where he is PACS lead and associate chief clinical information officer (CCIO).

He is a general radiologist with sub-specialty interests in chest, nuclear medical radiology, medico-legal and healthcare informatics.

For many years HSS has been the driving force of innovation in healthcare technology, allowing radiology services to go paperless long before other hospital departments.

HSS remains as focused on innovation today, and has recently launched its CRIS evolution strategy, which will introduce established and emerging web technologies to focus on productivity, network interoperability, efficiency and user experience.

In his new role with HSS, Dr Malik will play a key part in advising both at a visionary level for CRIS, and at a more-detailed and practical level, ensuring that HSS’s product and service offerings continue to be at the forefront of delivering ever better and even-more-efficient clinical outcomes for patients.

He will be closely involved with the first new module of the evolution roadmap, CRIS Reporting, which will be available in late 2017 and will revolutionise diagnostic reporting.

Graham Ridgway, group chief executive at Wellbeing Software Group, said: “Dr Malik is a huge asset to HSS. His background, clinical knowledge, market intelligence and boundless enthusiasm will support driving clinical excellence in our ongoing evolution of CRIS and innovation in the world of radiology.

“I know he will contribute significantly by delivering high quality input in his role as medical advisor and I am extremely delighted to announce his appointment.”

Dr Malik added: “I was extremely impressed by the company’s desire to both reinvigorate its relationship with its current customers alongside showcasing an exciting vision of enterprise imaging. I look forward to being a part of this development journey.”
