Guardtech Cleanrooms are delighted to announce their sponsorship of the Best Modular/Mobile Healthcare Facility award at the 2021 Building Better Healthcare Awards. The Haverhill-based controlled environment construction company will present the award to the entrant who has demonstrated an exemplary healthcare development across all primary, acute, community and private care services using modern offsite construction methods.
This year’s Building Better Healthcare Awards takes place on 3 November – with 600 guests from across the Healthcare sector and beyond set to attend a glitzy showpiece at The Brewery events venue in Barbican, London.
Guardtech have submitted their own entry in the Best COVID-19 Building Design Project category for the development of their innovative CleanCube portable laboratories – which have provided vital PCR testing for a wide range of industries including Film, TV, elite-level Sport and Air Travel.
Guardtech Directors
Chairman & Company Secretary Ray Wheeler, who founded Guardtech back in 2000 and will be handing out the award, is looking forward to the buzz of attending a busy event again with some of the most dedicated and talented figures from the Healthcare sector.
“I’m thrilled to be involved with this year’s awards,” he said. “We’re proud to sponsor a category that has become a core element of the products and services we offer. As a cleanroom design & build company, we cover a range of different types of construction – and modular and mobile builds are now a significant part of that, especially with our ISOPOD modular cleanrooms and CleanCube portable solutions.
“What I’m most excited about, though, is the fact that we will all get together again, share stories about what we’ve been up to, and generally network in a way in which we’ve been deprived of now for so long. The event promises to be enthused by a feel-good factor like never before and Team Guardtech can’t wait to be a part of that.”
Guardtech have a long and proud association with the Healthcare industry – designing, constructing and commissioning cleanrooms and laboratories for likes of Noumed Life Sciences, Baxter, Medreich, GA Health, TTP Embryology, GE Healthcare, Sanofi and Zimmer Biomet, with a diverse range of accomplishments in the realms of Medical Device manufacturing, Diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals, Optical Manufacturing, Microscopy and more.
But it is their most recent work assisting the battle against COVID-19 that has really underlined their impact in Healthcare.
They worked with manufacturers either producing ventilators or directly supplying vital components for ventilators in the early stages of the pandemic, before becoming involved with projects related to upscaling British-manufactured PPE.
The latter saw them involved with cleanroom design & build projects for face mask manufacturing in the UK and Ireland, supported by government funding to rapidly upscale PPE capacity.
But by far the busiest wave of related activity concerned either testing, diagnostics or vaccine delivery.
Guardtech became involved in a large-scale design and construction project for a COVID- testing reagent manufacturing facility that helped to support the national testing effort, while their CleanCube portable labs have helped PCR testing for a range of industries.
Commercial Director Mark Wheeler is proud of the team for the significant role they’ve played in the Healthcare sector in recent years – particularly in relation to the coronavirus pandemic.
“COVID-19 has turned the world upside down,” he said. “It’s seen our business become involved in all manner of activities that we might never have imagined two years ago. But it’s been a real source of honour that we’ve been able to have such a positive impact with our products and builds – whether that be PCR testing, reagent bottling manufacturing or vaccine delivery.
“Knowing that our CleanCube portable labs are out there, all over the UK, helping to track this disease and, ultimately, save lives is gratifying. I couldn’t’ be prouder of the team’s tireless efforts.”
