Gilling Dod Architects and Kier revealed as winning team for Staffordshire trust\'s Strategic Development Control Plan

£175m worth of projects secured through ProCure21+ framework

Gilling Dod Architects and Kier Construction have been revealed as the winning team in the competition for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust’s Delivery and Implementation of the Strategic Development Control Plan secured through the NHS Procure21+ Framework.

The appointment will see the team heading up multiple projects, including refurbishment, new-build and infrastructure works within the retained estate to provide both clinical and non-clinical accommodation across the trust’s sites. The projects are anticipated to take place over the next four to five years with an indicative value of £175m.

The trust’s specialist services include cancer diagnosis and treatment, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, renal and dialysis services, neonatal intensive care and paediatric intensive care. It is also recognised for its particular expertise in trauma, respiratory conditions, spinal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, complex orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopic surgery and the management of liver conditions. The trust has some of the most modern operating theatres in Europe.

The team is now working to deliver the trust’s vision to be a ‘first-class provider of clinical services, education, research and development’ by building a new hospital equipped with state-of-the-art medical and diagnostic facilities.
