THREE MedTech companies from the West Midlands are spearheading the development of innovative new technologies that will help dementia sufferers to live more independently. Just Checking, Safe Patient Systems and i-Cue Care have all secured funding from the Technology Strategy Board as part of its Living Well with Dementia competition. Safe Patient Systems, which operates out of Birmingham's Heartlands Hospital, and Willenhall-based i-Cue Care are collaborating to design and develop a product that links telehealth to telecare sensors. Warwickshire-based Just Checking has secured its funding to develop a tool to provide real-time monitoring of people with dementia at night.
