The architects behind two of the flagship Maggie’s cancer centres were among the design teams singled out for praise at this year’s Architect’s Journal’s AJ100 Awards .
Highlighting the design innovation by the UK’s top 100 largest architectural practices, awards were presented to national and regional winners in a number of categories.
And Page/Park Architects, the company behind the new Maggie’s Highlands and Glasgow cancer centres picked up the Practice of the Year gong for the Scottish region.
In London and the South East, the prize went to the Make practice, which has worked on a number of healthcare developments including Forth Valley Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital; while AWW Architects was named the winner in the South West. Purcell took the prize in both the North East and Yorkshire and the North West regions, and Scott Brownrigg won for Wales. The overall winner for Practice of the Year was Paul Davis + Partners, which has previously worked on the Royal Hospital in Chelsea. It also scooped the title of Sustainable Practice of the Year at this year’s event.

- Contribution to the Profession: David Chipperfield
- Clients Choice Award: Wilkinson Eyre
- Building of the Year : Central St Martin’s Arts Campus by Stanton Williams
