The minor injuries unit at Cirencester Hospital has been given a facelift, with vibrant new purple wall colouring and additional waiting bays installed.

A children’s waiting room has also been developed as part of the improvements, featuring an Arctic mural created by Dr Salam Musa, one of the medics at the hospital.

Dr Musa said: “I was given the task of painting for the children, which is something that I love. This has always been something that I’ve wanted to do.”

The refurbishment of the unit was funded by the hospital’s League of Friends and aims to help patients feel more comfortable and relaxed, particularly younger people.

Sheila Rees, chairman of the League of Friends, said: “The children just love it. They seem so much more relaxed now the painting has gone up.”
