Business designs and delivers innovative and enabling services for healthcare providers and commissioners

A new venture will harness the NHS and wider healthcare expertise of three leading Capita businesses in order to design and deliver innovative and enabling services for healthcare providers and commissioners.

Capita Heath Partners builds on the combined skills of Capita’s existing health advisory practice, its health insight business, and its health infrastructure practice, which together have more than 25 years of experience in the health sector and work with more than 400 public and private healthcare organisations.

It will work with NHS organisations to help deliver transformation which is enabled by insight from the CHKS knowledge base, which has supported over 70% of UK trusts. It is powered by cutting-edge analytics and health planning technology drawn from across Capita and is supported by health experts from a broad range of disciplines. It offers a delivery-focused approach to the key challenges of health and social care integration, efficiency and cost-saving targets, the use of information and effective management of resources.

Richard Darch, executive director of Capita Health Partners, said: “Capita’s work with Sussex Community NHS Trust is an excellent example of how long-term, strategic partnerships can bring together the expertise and knowledge of two organisations to produce a different way of working that opens up new opportunities and ensures financial sustainability. Our commercial ‘insourcing’ model delivers value by bringing expertise from Capita to work alongside the trust to identify and implement efficiency improvements.”

“There are a number of new ideas coming out the Sussex project and the 433 other healthcare organisations we already work with and we are keen to transfer this learning and best practice across the health sector. Our aim is to be a trusted partner in managing and delivering change, enabling our partners to focus on their core business of providing high-quality healthcare.”

“An emerging focus will be on understanding the impact of advances in medical technology on the built environment and how technology, process change and facility planning go hand-in-hand to create a better experience for patients.”

Capita Health Partners’ 320-strong team will be headquartered in London with offices around the UK and includes clinicians, service managers, consultants, analysts and property and infrastructure specialists; all with proven capability in service improvement and transformation. The team will work in partnership with healthcare providers, commissioners and local authorities on a variety of activities that support transformation, including the management and delivery of technology and infrastructure that enables high quality care.
