This half-day conference will look at how academia and industry can successfully engage with NHS staff for the purposes of collaborative R&D and clinical trials. It will provide an overview of the UK Life Sciences Strategy , how this fits with Innovation Health and Wealth, why working with the NHS is central to it and what infrastructure exists within the reformed NHS to support industry engagement. It will also look at IP considerations in collaboration agreements and contracts and why it is important to get these considerations right at the start of any collaboration from the perspective of international IP law and the international competitiveness of UK plc.
