Birmingham Women's enhances scanning

Birmingham Women's NHS Foundation Trust has enhanced the scanning facilities in its radiology department following the installation of three ACUSON S2000 ultrasound systems from Siemens Healthcare. One of only two trusts in the UK offering specialist care to women, the hospital is using the systems for general all-purpose scanning in obstetric, gynaecological and paediatric examinations. The S2000s replace older equipment in the hospital and are being used for a variety of procedures including neonatal kidney and hip examinations. "With the S2000s in place we hope ultimately to be able to add 3D ultrasound to our range of services," said Dr. Jo McHugo, consultant radiologist.
