Daycase unit will support recovery from COVID-19 backlog

Tilbury Douglas has completed construction of a £4.8m daycase theatres project at Chorley & South Ribble Hospital on behalf of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The scheme, which included the refurbishment and remodelling of three new daycase theatres, is a much-welcomed addition to the hospital as it will help to reduce waiting times for patents requiring elective procedures.

Phil Shaw, divisional director for the North West at Tilbury Douglas, said: “The fast turn-around of the theatres is a testament to the team’s hard work and industry expertise.

“We’re proud to announce that this is the second project delivered for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the ophthalmology unit scheduled to handover at the end of the month.

“We are delighted to be able to continue to support the NHS with the accelerating demand for additional healthcare facilities.”
