The Directors here at DAY have wide-ranging experience, across multiple sectors. As the practice has grown, we have built a team of highly skilled and talented architects, technicians, technologists and interior designers, and as a result, we can allocate the right people at the right time to each project.

We’re committed to the design process and actively encourage our clients to be part of our own internal method of design review. It’s an important part of the way we work, and we find that inviting clients to be part of this design development helps to stimulate genuine stakeholder investment in the project. This ultimately adds real and quantifiable value and ensures delivery of an end product that is on brief, on programme and on budget.
This new class-leading facility is designed to support the Greater Manchester Major Trauma Service, one of the largest in the UK. The overarching objective of the GMMTH, is to deliver enhanced Major Trauma care to Greater Manchester and improve patient outcomes. It delivers innovation throughout including the UK first direct level access Helipad, UK first RAPTOR Hybrid Operating Theatre, where interventional / diagnostic radiology, including CT, open operative techniques, and resuscitation, can be performed concurrently and has been designed to incorporate the ‘perfect’ polytrauma pathway.
A refurbishment to the existing Ward 6 Childrens Oncology department situated on the 1st floor of the Stephenson Building. This project comprised of multiple complex phases, making the design solution extremely challenging. Having to maintain 50% patient occupancy of the ‘Live’ Ward whilst carrying out intrusive reconfiguration works directly adjacent to incredibly vulnerable and poorly paediatric patients, meant that constant monitoring of noise, dust, vibration, and all other construction activities was carefully managed, ensuring the safety of the staff, patients and carers was the priority at all times.
This new BIMU Facility at Salford will provide immediate Intermediate & Integrated care services to hospital patients ‘stepping-down’ from the Hospital environment. The new Unit will accommodate up to 60 patients, and has been designed as a low-rise development over two floors, responding to the local context and also to emulate the feeling of a residential setting.
Project RED is the Redevelopment and Extension of the Adult’s Emergency Department. The two- phase delivery of a four storey extension has been designed to accommodate the existing Emergency Department comprising of Minors, Majors, RAU and Resus at Ground Floor Level. This also includes remodelling of the existing Paediatric Emergency department which includes, a second ambulance canopy to the Children’s Hospital A&E Department and a courtyard infill to provide new clinical accommodation.
