Carshalton Fields Surgery and Wallington Family Practice have submitted a business case to merge, which NHS South West London has approved.
It comes as NHS South West London had been working with Carshalton Fields Surgery to find an urgent solution after its lease expired and the owners of the practice building served notice, meaning the practice had to move.
The property owners have the legal right to pursue a private sale of the premises.
Under the lease agreement, the practice holds, NHS South West London had no legal route to challenge the sale of the building.

Carshalton Fields Surgery on Crichton Road will close on Friday 28 June 2024.
Patients at Carshalton Fields do not need to take any action as they will be automatically registered at Wallington Family and their medical records will automatically transfer on 1 July 2024.
According to NHS South West London, there are a range of benefits for patients at both Carshalton Fields Surgery and Wallington Family Practice:
- Jubilee Health Centre is a purpose-built health centre offering significantly improved premises for Carshalton Fields patients.
- Carshalton Fields Surgery patients will also benefit from a greater range of services, clinical staff, and local services that operate at Jubilee Health Centre, including radiography, Musculoskeletal Health (MSK), and Phlebotomy.
- All the staff and clinicians at Carshalton Fields Surgery will be retained and transferred to Wallington Family Practice – this will bolster the service Wallington Family Practice is able to provide.
- Carshalton Fields is a CQC rated Good practice and can support Wallington Family Practice make improvements to their processes and services.
